FOR XAVIER
The jazz bands didn't play for him that day
That day on Canal Street
Toxic water 6 feet deep as he floated by
No guys to trumpet his home going
No one to celebrate his demise
No sky full of white umbrellas for Xavier as he passed into God's outstretched hands
Atlantis his final resting place
But there was no one to lead the band
